Ode to Corporate Wrongdoers, Justice Limiters, and Of Course Johnny Stossel

Dearest dearest corporation
Why is it that you can pollute this nation?
Often, with little or no accountability
You harm people, yet no one can see.

For corporate wrongdoers have defenders like Bush,
And so-called tort "reforms" they push.
So what if people are harmed or killed?
As long as their lobbyists have hours to bill.

Corps who kill need not fear
Bush's Justice Department is here.
Criminal prosecution is not your friend.
How about Deferred Prosecution Agreements instead?

The Times calls it a "Justice Shift"
Where corps have another gift.
To toxic dumpers it is okay.
Pay a little money and continue on your way.

In addition they have Stossel
Very simply, he's their Apostle.
For Johnny its not about drugs that don't work.
To him its innocent victims going berserk.

Luckily we still have the courts
Where ordinary Joe's can sue for torts

Without these lawsuits where would we be?
A land where corps hurt for free.
And CEOs can drink chablis
Without fearing a criminal plea
For all their many felonies.
