Historically the NRA and other pro-gun lobby groups have balked at
efforts to curb gun violence though the court system. Heck, they even went so far as to get a federal law passed
which was supposed to have banned New York City's lawsuits against
dozens of gun dealers (um, it didn't work).
But despite the NRA's past effort to provide complete immunity to the
gun industry, it only took minutes
after the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision on gun ownership
yesterday for the NRA to begin filing cases all over the country.
So add the NRA to our growing list of "tort reform" hypocrites!
