The insurance industry and Big Business are really disgusting beyond words sometimes. Take the workers compensation system.
In its 2006 report “Workers’ Compensation – A Cautionary Tale", the Center for Justice & Democracy found "through a combination of factors like the slashing of benefits, unprecedented and insurmountable eligibility requirements, and continuous industry lobbying of politicians and agency administrators, workers’ compensation programs in many states have been essentially gutted, leaving injured workers without adequate help to care for their families.”
As this report points out, California’s system has been among the worst in the country for workers. Now, some lawmakers are trying to repair some of the damage by making it a bit easier for injured workers to obtain benefits and keep their families from becoming destitute. But the insurance industry and California Chamber of Commerce are fighting them!
There really are no words.
It is time injured workers took their battle to the foot of the United Nation Human Rights Commission. Enough is enough , injured workers are being forced into bankruptcy, downloaded onto the taxpayer social safety net ( welfare ) all because the WCB Law empowers these WCB Board with the power to abuse and get away with it.
Intimidation by the WCB caseworkers has placed injured workers at death doorstep ..that is correct , SUICIDE .
In other words , the WCB Law is nothing more than legalized murder.
