It’s feels like Valentine’s Day here at ThePopTort! It always does when one of our good pals over at Dick
Cheney’s favorite “think tank,” the Manhattan Institute, gives us a free publicity, especially when they credit one of our studies for gumming up the works when it comes to stripping patients of their legal rights! I seem to recall Ted Frank, their boyfriend over at the neo-con American Enterprise Institute, doing that once before. I think he used the word “stunt.”
Maybe they need to focus a little attention on the Congressional Budget Office. We sure have. Even under CBO’s most anti-patient scenario, only.5% would be shaved off overall health expenditures if tort restrictions were enacted, while another 50,000 could die. To quote our friend Larry, I think we found our death panels.
