We’ve got a quick update on a story we told you about last week involving an Alabama woman named Becky Coudert who developed a bald strip around her head after being over-exposed to radiation via a “CT brain perfusion scan.”
Coudert has now filed a class action suit against the maker of the scanner, G.E., claiming she may have received ”up to 14 times the radiation required.”
Huntsville Hospital, where Coudert underwent her CT scan, is currently notifying some 60 other patients who may also “have been overexposed to radiation.”
Meanwhile, “[t]wo studies published in the Archives of Internal Medicine this week have raised additional concerns about the radiation risks” associated with CT scans.
