The eLocal "Tort Reform" Dis-InfoGraphic

 I don’t know much about a business called “eLocal” and their offshoot “eLocalLawyers” but according to their website, they apparently are in business to help injured people find lawyers.  “Do you need a personal injury lawyer? Do you have a medical malpractice case?,” says eLocalLawyers.  “We provide you with over 40 legal categories to help you refine your search for a local lawyer.” 

These people must have 6-years-olds in charge of their business plan because according to a so-called “Infographic” which they are pushing around the internet (even we received an email from them yesterday), their customers – that is, lawyers and people who need them - are basically ruining the country.  In fact, we’d be hard pressed to find a more outrageously deceitful propaganda piece from any anti-lawyer, anti-victim "tort reform" group today.  What are these people thinking?  Let’s join forces with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to try to create a groundswell of support for laws that limit people's access to the courts, so we can put ourselves out of businesses? 

So we decided to help out eLocal.  Per their request, we did put up the graphic, which you see.  But when you click on it, you’ll go here instead (or download pdf here):  The Center for Justice & Democracy’s critique of this nonsensical piece of fiction.

And if you happen to be part of eLocalLawyer’s attorney directory, you might want to let them know that promoting dumb “infographics” like this is, well, a pretty dumb thing to do.

I trashed that garbage infographic nine months ago when it came out (see link via my name here). eLocal has no clue what they're saying, they probably paid some cheap SEO firm to whip together some baloney for links from right-wingers.
