Soldiers aren't just being mistreated and neglected by the VA. Now big insurance is refusing to cover their death benefits!
According to the Charleston Gazette, the parents of an Iraq veteran who passed away in his sleep are having to sue his insurance company in order to receive the benefits of his policy. The company issued the soldier a $50,000 life insurance policy, for which he dutifully paid each monthly premium.
But, shockingly, the insurance company then refused to honor the policy because "had they known that [he] had a car accident when he was 16 years old, they never would have written the policy to begin with..."
It's ironic that you can be eligible for a policy while doing such risky things as disabling IEDs, but a decades-old car accident should disqualify you from coverage.
